Jonathan Pope is a Director of Photography whose work has been recognized, nominated, and screened at festivals around the world - including Sundance, SXSW, Cannes, and more.
In 2019, he completed work on three feature films, including the horror-thriller Initiation (2020 SXSW Film Festival), the LGBTQ documentary The Sound of Identity, and The Social Dilemma (2020 Sundance Film Festival), a new half-documentary, half-narrative from acclaimed documentarian Jeff Orlowski. Additionally, 2019 saw the theatrical release of the dramatic feature film, Hold On.
Jonathan earned his MFA in Film & Television Production from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Digital Filmmaking from Georgia Southern University.
While at USC, Jonathan was the recipient of the 2011 Charles Lang Endowed Scholarship for Cinematography, the 2012 Thomas B. Bush Memorial Scholarship for Cinematography, USC's nominee for the 2012 Kodak Cinematography Scholarship, and the USC submission to the 2013 ASC Heritage Award.
Jonathan was raised in Atlanta, and is currently based in Los Angeles.
